Google announced the rollout of the Google Home extension for Gemini last month. However, the feature was initially limited to a small subset of users. It appears that the company has expanded the availability of this feature. The Google Home extension is now visible within the Gemini app on Galaxy smartphones.

Enabling the Google Home Extension in Gemini
Step 1: Open the Gemini app on your Galaxy smartphone or tablet.
Step 2: Navigate to Settings » Extensions.
Step 3: Turn on the Google Home toggle.
Previously, using Gemini to manage your Google Home-compatible smart home devices involved a slower process, as it relied on Google Assistant to execute commands. With the native Google Home extension now available for Gemini, Google’s latest AI assistant can process commands more quickly.
Another update is the ability to use the side button on certain Galaxy devices to issue voice commands for smart home controls. Previously, initiating voice commands required opening the Gemini app first.

If you instruct Gemini to set an alarm or begin a timer, it utilizes the Samsung Clock app. Saving information to a note through Gemini results in the content being saved within Samsung Notes. Similarly, when you ask Gemini to remind you of something, it generates a reminder in the Samsung Reminder app.
